Liz Cotone
Liz Cotone graduated from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts with an MFA in Writing for Film and Television. There, she won the Alfred P. Sloan Scriptwriting Prize for her historical biopic Madame Curie, which is currently in pre-production with Clear Pictures Entertainment. Most recently, she was tapped to pen the film adaptation of Rene Steinke’s novel Friendswood starring Uma Thurman. Her television pilot scripts have been in development with Fox TV Studios, Amblin Entertainment, and Davis Entertainment. Liz originally received her B.A. in Drama from Kenyon College and was formerly a classically trained actor, a founding member of the nationally renowned Ojai Playwrights Conference, and the Artistic Director of Theater 150 in Ojai, California. For fifteen years, she has taught acting and writing to students of all ages in both southern and northern California, as well as New York City. She currently teaches Screenwriting at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and volunteers as a writing mentor to at-risk teenage girls in Los Angeles County. Liz now makes her home in the beautiful Santa Clarita Valley with her husband Chris and daughter Jenny.

Most recently, she developed a one-hour family drama pilot for WBTV, and she was tapped to pen the film adaptation of Rene Steinke’s novel Friendswood starring Uma Thurman. Liz originally received her B.A. in Drama from Kenyon College and was formerly a classically trained actor, a founding member of the nationally renowned Ojai Playwrights Conference, and the Artistic Director of Theater 150 in Ojai, California.
